Bryan Adams has specialized in the area of employment law representing employers for over 25 years. He has litigated cases at all levels of the state and federal court system at both the trial and appellate levels. He has extensive experience representing clients in lawsuits and administrative proceedings in all areas of employment law. He also counsels clients in lawsuit avoidance, conducting investigations, employee handbooks, employment contracts and conducting reductions-in-force. He received his B.A. degree from Wofford College and his law degree from Wake Forest University School of Law. Phil Van Hoy grew up in Charlotte and attended Charlotte-Mecklenburg public schools. After graduating from law school, he served a short period of active duty as an Army officer. He went on to practice employment law as an attorney in the Duke Power legal department and in private law firms before founding this firm with Craig Reutlinger in 1989. Van Hoy has decades of experience litigating complex employment cases at every level, including the North Carolina Court of Appeals, the North Carolina Supreme Court, the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals and the United States Supreme Court. He has been a permanent member of the Fourth Circuit Judicial Conference since 1983. He previously served as Chair of the EEOC Committee of the North Carolina Bar Association and on the North Carolina OSHA Review Commission. Van Hoy is a certified mediator and is available for mediations and arbitrations in state or federal court. He has been rated AV by Martindale-Hubbell since 1987 and has been listed in the Bar Register of Preeminent Lawyers since 1991.
