G. Bryan Adams, III

Bryan Adams is a Charlotte native who graduated from Charlotte Latin School in 1983 and returned to practice after earning his law degree from Wake Forest University. Already an experienced employment litigator, he joined this firm as a partner in 2000. He has litigated cases in all levels of the state and federal court system at the trial and appellate levels, including the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals and the United States Supreme Court. Adams has taught a number of courses on the fundamentals of employment law to human resources professionals and written extensively on employment law issues arising under state and federal law. He is rated AV by Martindale-Hubbell and has been listed in Super Lawyers for Employment Litigation (1 of 13 lawyers selected in the area of Employment Litigation). Adams is listed among the Legal Elite by Business North Carolina magazine, an honor achieved by only 3% of lawyers statewide, and has been recognized as a leading employment lawyer by Chambers USA.

Stephen J. Dunn

Steve Dunn was born in Texas and lived in several states before moving to Charlotte in 1986. He started with the firm as a summer clerk in 1996 and returned full time after graduating from law school in 1998. He has lectured at the UNC-Chapel Hill School of Law, UNC-Charlotte, and the Charlotte School of Law. Dunn has been recognized for excellence in publications including Business North Carolina Legal Elite, North Carolina Super Lawyers, and Chambers USA. He has handled numerous employment cases from the administrative investigation stage through trial and appeal and has represented employers in the North Carolina Court of Appeals and the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals. Dunn is a certified mediator specializing in mediation and arbitration of employment and business litigation.

Craig A. Reutlinger

After earning his law degree from Florida State, Craig Reutlinger served in the Air Force for five years as a Judge Advocate and Medical Legal Consultant. He later worked as Chief Legal Counsel and Assistant Secretary of Carolinas Medical Center and other health care facilities of the Carolinas HealthCare System. Reutlinger founded the firm with Phil Van Hoy in 1989. In addition to employment law, Reutlinger specializes in advising health care providers on corporate, contractual and health care related matters. Reutlinger previously served as Chair of the Health Law Section of the North Carolina Bar Association and as President of the North Carolina Society of Health Care Attorneys. He is a permanent member of the Fourth Circuit Judicial Conference. Reutlinger is rated AV by Martindale-Hubbell in both Health Law and Employment Law and has been recognized for excellence in Best Lawyers In America.

Philip M. Van Hoy

Phil Van Hoy grew up in Charlotte and attended Charlotte-Mecklenburg public schools. After graduating from law school, he served a short period of active duty as an Army officer. He went on to practice employment law as an attorney in the Duke Power legal department and in private law firms before founding this firm with Craig Reutlinger in 1989. Van Hoy has decades of experience litigating complex employment cases at every level, including the North Carolina Court of Appeals, the North Carolina Supreme Court, the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals and the United States Supreme Court. He previously served as Chair of the EEOC Committee of the North Carolina Bar Association and on the North Carolina OSHA Review Commission. Van Hoy is a certified mediator and is available for mediations and arbitrations in state or federal court. He has been rated AV by Martindale-Hubbell since 1987 and has been listed in the Bar Register of Preeminent Lawyers since 1991. Van Hoy became the first member of Business North Carolina magazine's Legal Elite Hall of Fame for Employment Law in 2003. He has been recognized for excellence in numerous publications including North Carolina Super Lawyers and Best Lawyers in America. He is rated "First Tier" by Chambers USA.
