NYC Sexual Harassment Poster and Information Sheet Released by City Commission
By Collazo, Florentino & Keil LLP
August 13, 2018
As previously reported, the NYC Council has enacted a series of laws addressing employers’ obligations regarding sexual harassment. As part of those requirements, effective September 6, 2018, employers must conspicuously post an anti-sexual harassment rights and responsibilities poster, in both English and Spanish, in employee breakrooms or other common areas and provide an information sheet on sexual harassment to new employees. The information sheet may also be included in employee handbooks, but such inclusion is not required. The English versions of the poster and the information sheet have just been released by the NYC Commission on Human Rights. The poster must be at least 8.5 by 14 inches. If you have any questions about these posting and distribution requirements, please do not hesitate to contact any Collazo, Florentino & Keil LLP attorney.
