New COVID-19 Rules in Germany – Proof of Vaccination, Recovery or Testing Mandatory for Employees

By CMS Employment Group

November 24, 2021

According to the amended German Protection Against Infection Act employees may only enter workplaces if they can prove that they are vaccinated against or have recovered from COVID-19 or if they have a negative test result.

For employers, this means a lot of effort around monitoring and documentation. The law also provides that employers may be obliged to offer their staff a working from home option, within the constraints of what is possible.

The regulations comes into effect today.
