Bullard Law represents management exclusively in labor and employment law matters. Since the firm was founded in 1977, it has grown to be a highly respected management labor and employment boutique law firm - the largest in the Pacific Northwest. Richard J. Alli, Jr.

Ric's practice emphasizes collective bargaining, labor and employment law planning and strategy, personnel administration, development and implementation of personnel policies, contract administration, grievances, union election campaigns, wage, hour and employment discrimination issues and strike operations. Ric has worked for clients throughout the United States. He works with a large number of health care, utility and manufacturing companies. Ric has handled more than 150 arbitration cases arising under a collective bargaining agreement. He is often called upon to assist labor relations personnel in addressing day-to-day concerns, as well as long-term strategic issues.

Kara enjoys helping clients understand and solve their often complex employee benefits issues.Kara practices exclusively in the areas of employee benefits and executive compensation. She has experience with qualified and non-qualified retirement plans, health and welfare benefit plans, executive compensation issues, and employee benefits aspects of mergers and acquisitions. Kara helps clients design and draft benefit plans, monitor compliance with new legislation and regulatory guidance under the lnternal Revenue Code and ERISA, and to interact with the IRS and the DOL regarding plan issues. Kara also advises clients on COBRA and HIPAA issues, fiduciary responsibility, and prohibited transaction requirements.

Akin's practice focuses on labor relations and employment advice, including bargaining, labor contract administration, employee relations, discipline and discharge, practice before state and federal agencies, and preventive risk management and strategy. He has lobbied collaboratively and successfully with employers and associations on employment and law enforcement issues.

Akin represents employers throughout Oregon and Washington in all matters related to labor and employment and related municipal law issues. Akin formerly served as an assistant attorney general for Oregon for labor and employment matters.

Tom is one of the few attorneys in Portland and the Northwest who specializes in employee benefits and his presence at Bullard greatly enhances the firm's expansive representation of employers in the labor and employment law arena. Since 1983, he has represented employers in the areas of qualified and nonqualified retirement plans, health and welfare plans, and funding vehicles for employee benefits plans. Tom received his law degree from Yale Law School and undergraduate degree from Claremont Men's College (now Claremont McKenna College), and clerked for Judge Otto Skopil on the U.S. Court of Appeals before entering private practice.

Alan has extensive litigation experience in federal and state courts with special emphasis on injured worker and disability discrimination litigation. Currently, in addition to a litigation case load, Alan consults with employer/clients on the development of management strategies for dealing with injured and disabled workers, family medical leave and workers compensation conflicts. Alan is a member of the following associations: Oregon Bar Association; Washington State Bar Association; and the Oregon Association of Defense Counsel.

Benjamin P. O'Glasser

Ben advises public and private sector clients in employment and labor matters, including federal and state employment litigation. Ben's work includes advice and litigation relating to wrongful termination, alleged sexual harassment, and disability accommodation and discrimination as well as labor contract interpretation and administration.

Throughout her legal career, Liani successfully resolved hundreds of cases and obtained favorable jury verdicts for the State of Oregon. She also has a diverse portfolio of employment defense experience regarding race, gender, age, and disability discrimination claims, as well as OFLA, FMLA, and whistleblowing and retaliation claims. Liani uses her experience to develop extensive training methods and materials to assist employers in preventing and documenting employment actions against future litigation. She also trains clients on managing the burdensome and expensive electronic discovery process.Liani has practical experience interpreting collective bargaining agreements, responding to grievances, and engaging in progressive discipline.

Dave has specialized in labor and employment law for over 30 years. He is the immediate past president of Worklaw® Network. His practice focuses on advising Oregon and Washington employers and management personnel on how to avoid employment lawsuits, and in defending them if they do become entangled in those lawsuits. He has served as an adjunct professor of employment discrimination law at Willamette University School of Law. Currently Dave serves on the Leadership Council for the Oregon Chapter of the National Federation of lndependent Business. Dave also has published numerous articles on employment law issues.
